Insulin production of the beta-cells
1 rating(s) (5 ø)

Representation of the pancreas with its neighboring organs (softened) and the insulin-producing beta cells of the islets of Langerhans (blue cell at the top right). Starting from the beta cells (middle window) insulin passes through the capillaries to the muscle tissue (bottom window). This process is here illustrated by red arrows. In addition to insulin molecules there are blood-sugar molecules as well as red blood cells in side-gated capillaries.
